Rachel Sheffield

Rachel Sheffield joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in August 2018 as an associate attorney. Rachel is a double Gator, having earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Business Administration along with her Juris Doctorate cum laude from the University of Florida.
 
Throughout law school, Rachel received the Fall 2016 Book Award for Trial Practice and the Fall 2017 Book Award for International Commercial Arbitration and Moot. Rachel also became a member of the Florida Moot Court Team, where she was selected to compete in The ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Boston, Massachusetts.
 
As a third-year law student, Rachel was one of four law students selected to compete in the International Chamber of Commerce Vis Pre-Moot in Paris, France, where she and her team placed first in the competition. Rachel also competed on behalf of the University of Florida in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. These experiences led Rachel to pursue a career in litigation at Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon. Rachel will be working with the personal injury group and is pleased to serve clients in all our Panhandle locations.

R. Bradley Adams

Practicing primarily in the Gulf Coast region from south Alabama to the Florida panhandle, Brad Adams advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters arising under state and federal laws. His practice is primarily devoted to defending employers in connection with claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations and other employment-related issues in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other administrative agencies.
 
Additionally, Brad counsels and trains employers on strategies for minimizing the risk of employment litigation, conducts employment practices audits and assists employers with the development of employment policies, handbooks and agreements and other materials pertaining to the employment relationship. Brad also works with clients operating in the rapidly expanding “gig economy” and generally sourcing work through innovative and technology-driven approaches.

Lori Ellen Ward

Lori Ellen Ward

Lori Ellen Ward grew up in Jackson County (Marianna), Florida and transplanted to the Emerald Coast in 1996 when she married a true local, Michael Ward. After earning her law degree at Florida State University in 1997, she began her legal career in a small Destin firm with a broad area of practice, where she quickly developed an interest in and proficiency at representing clients in the real estate industry.
 
Over the last 20 years, her practice has grown to include developers of large commercial and residential real estate ventures, local banks in their real estate lending departments and individual buyers and sellers of property. For the 10 years preceding her transition to Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in late 2017, she was a sole practitioner in Miramar Beach and owner of Priority Title, a title agency providing insured residential real estate closings primarily in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
 
Outside of her professional activities, Lori has served as a past President of the Junior League of the Emerald Coast and remains a sustainer in that organization. She is also a charter and Evergreen member of Impact 100 of Northwest Florida. Professionally, she is an active affiliate with the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, a former treasurer of the Okaloosa Bar Association and the current Vice President of the Walton County Bar Association. Her family is involved with a church plant in Santa Rosa Beach – King’s Cross Church – which meets in their backyard. Lori and Michael have been married for over 20 years; they have a 16-year-old son, a 12-year-old daughter, 1 dog, 2 cats, and an RV!
 
At Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon, Lori’s practice is focused on residential real estate closings, but she also advises clients in the areas of general real estate matters, commercial and residential real estate development, business formations and transactions, probate and estate planning.  Lori works primarily in the firm’s Miramar Beach – Sandestin office, but is available to assist clients in our Pensacola and Tallahassee offices and can conduct closings in all 67 Florida counties.

Michelle A. Olliff

Michelle A. Olliff

Michelle Olliff joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in September 2017 as an associate attorney. A proud double Gator, Michelle earned her Political Science and Spanish bachelor’s degrees, as well as her Juris Doctorate Degree, from the University of Florida. Throughout law school, Michelle interned for the Family Law Division of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, served as Articles Editor for the Florida Journal of International Law, and worked as a Certified Legal Intern for Gator TeamChild. Michelle also received the Spring 2017 Book Award for Public Speaking for Lawyers and the Pro Bono Award of Excellence, and after graduating in the top 10% of her class, was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
 
Since joining our firm, Michelle's practice areas focus on real estate and commercial transactions and litigation, as well as community association work. Michelle is a licensed Title Agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.
 
Michelle is actively involved in the community, acting as the treasurer for the Northwest Florida's Association for Women Lawyers, a co-chair for the 2019 Law Week Committee, a member of the Young Lawyer's Division and the Escambia Santa Rosa Bar Association, and a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House.

Benjamin T. Shell

Benjamin is a litigation attorney that joined our Pensacola office and works with our Personal Injury Law Group. As a Pensacola native, Benjamin received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of West Florida and his Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law. His practices areas include Civil Litigation, Bad Faith Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Social Security Disability, and Worker’s Compensation.
 
Prior to joining Emmanuel, Sheppard, & Condon, Benjamin spent the early part of his career serving as defense counsel for Fortune 500 insurance companies and corporate clients. This experience has given him a unique perspective into how insurance companies view and evaluate certain claims, thus allowing him to expertly navigate the litigation process in the manner most advantageous to his clients. Benjamin is also a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and a Junior member of the America Inns of Court, Pensacola Chapter.

Adam C. Cobb

Adam C. Cobb

Adam focuses his practice on guiding clients through all manner of real estate transactions and litigation. A native of Pensacola, Adam graduated with honors from the Florida State University College of Law and practiced in Indianapolis from 2010 until returning home and joining Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon in 2016.
 
Prior to joining Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon, Adam worked for Ice Miller LLP, a top-ten ranked real estate firm in the Midwest, where he represented developers in all manner of commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale, financing, leasing, land use and zoning, and public-private partnerships. Adam also worked for Mercer Belanger PC, where he primarily represented lending institutions in real estate, commercial, and creditor’s rights litigation throughout state and federal courts in Indiana.
 
Adam is licensed to practice law in Florida, Alabama, and Indiana (inactive). He also is an agent for Chicago, Commonwealth Land, Fidelity National, Westcor and Old Republic National Title Insurance Companies, and is a licensed Alabama title insurance agent.

Galen M. Novotny

Galen M. Novotny

Born and raised in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, Galen Novotny graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors Degree in History with Honors and High Distinction in 1996. In 1999, he received his law degree from Capital University located in Columbus, Ohio. While attending Capital University, he completed a joint degree program at Ohio University located in Athens, Ohio earning a Masters in Sports Administration in 2000.

After a brief career in professional sports administration, Galen began to practice law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000, and the Pennsylvania Bar in 2002. Over the course of his career, he has practiced in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, worker's compensation, and family law in Northwest Florida. In 2005, he opened the law firm of Galen M. Novotny, P.A., where he practiced as a sole practitioner until joining Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon in January 2016.

Galen is a member of the Florida Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, the Society of the Criminal Defense Bar and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In addition, Galen serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern Youth Sports Association which serves the inner city youth of Pensacola where he has coached basketball since 2002 along with his board duties.

Patrick G. Emmanuel, Retired

Patrick G. Emmanuel was a practicing attorney at Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon for more than sixty-five years. Over the years he served his profession well and was rewarded for his efforts. He merited an impressive list of professional accolades: he was a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Emmanuel was the recipient of the Florida Bar's President's Pro Bono Service Award, as well as the Florida Bar Foundations "2001 Medal of Honor Award", was rated an A-V attorney by Martindale Hubbell, and was named in each volume of The Best Lawyers in America, since 1983, as one of Florida's outstanding lawyers in real estate.
 
Mr. Emmanuel was a Major in a tank destroyer battalion during World War II and served his country as an experienced and decorated lawyer.
 
A graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, he served his profession in countless capacities, including President of The Florida Bar and The Florida Bar Foundation, member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, chairman of numerous Florida Bar committees, and chairman of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission of Florida.

Alan C. Sheppard, 1921-2014

Alan Sheppard's love of law dates back prior to World War II. He began his career as a secretary in a prominent law firm here in Pensacola. It was there that he began his study of the law under an attorney preceptor. In 1942 his studies were interrupted by a tour of duty with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
 
Upon completion of his tour in 1945, Alan went on to finish his studies through the LaSalle Extension University earning his LLB. He passed the Florida Bar Exam in 1947.

A. G. Condon, Jr., 1934-2011

Al Condon received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 1956 before serving two years as a United States Marine Corps infantry officer. He then attended the University of Florida College of Law, where he served as an executive editor of the University of Florida Law Review.
 
Upon his graduation from law school in 1961, he joined a large firm in Tampa, Florida, where he primarily focused on civil litigation. He joined the firm four years later and distinguished himself as a premier civil trial attorney, especially in the area of defense litigation. He was rated an AV attorney in Martindale Hubbell.
 
Mr. Condon was a former Special Counsel to the Governor of Florida, a past President of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, a past member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, and an emeritus member of The Florida Board of Bar Examiners. He was Florida Bar board certified in civil trial law and was admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He was a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the American Inns of Court, Pensacola Chapter.
 
Mr. Condon retired from the full-time practice of law in October 2010.

Suzanne Blankenship

Suzanne Blankenship

Suzanne Blankenship has been practicing law in Pensacola since 1996. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in political science and her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alabama. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Hamline Journal of Public Law and Policy.

Holly V. Jurnovoy

Holly Jurnovoy was born in South Carolina and raised in Gulf Breeze. She is a graduate of Gulf Breeze High School, Emory University and Villanova Law School. After 10 years in the Philadelphia area, Holly returned to Gulf Breeze and joined Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon in 1998. Holly is admitted to practice law in Florida, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She focuses her practice on residential real estate closings.

Warren R. Todd has been a personal injury and wrongful death lawyer with Emmanuel, Sheppard, and Condon for more than twenty-five years. During his legal career, Warren has successfully represented more than one thousand personal injury victims. T. Shane Rowe

T. Shane Rowe

Although Shane was born in Pensacola, Florida, he was raised in the Florida Keys. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida, College of Law and received his bachelor's degree in Criminology. Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Legal Intern, Shane represented indigent clients in various legal matters while at the University of Florida.
 
Shane has co-published a document outlining the various types of vehicle insurance and coverage and speaks to public groups on the topic. He was twice selected by The Florida Bar to author a chapter on "Florida Automobile Insurance Law" (2005, 6th Edition & 2009, 7th Edition), Chapter 1, Financial Responsibility and Compulsory Insurance Laws.
 
Shane is a recipient of the 2007 William S. Meador Award which is given annually by the Escambia/Santa Rosa Bar to a young attorney who exhibits excellence in the practice of law with integrity and a commitment to community service. Wanda W. Radcliffe

Wanda Radcliffe joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in 1980 as a legal assistant in the field of personal injury law. She then left the firm in 1983 to go on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While at Cumberland, Wanda was selected as a member of the Trial Advocacy Board for two consecutive years. Since returning to ES&C in 1986, she has distinguished herself as one of our finest personal injury and social security disability attorneys. Wanda also serves as the firm's practice group coordinator for the personal injury division.
 
For more than twenty years, Wanda has dedicated herself to helping her clients achieve a better quality of life. P. Michael Patterson

Of Counsel

Mike Patterson is a highly experienced litigator and has tried hundreds of cases from complex federal income tax to substantial personal injury and death cases. Mike served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. In that position, he exercised authority over all civil cases in North Florida in which the United States was a party and personally handled the case that resulted in the largest environmental judgment in the history of the Florida panhandle. Mike has represented both developers and citizens' groups in environmental cases. He has substantial experience in the application and enforcement of healthcare laws and regulations.
 
Mike has extensive experience in both mass tort litigation and the defense of environmental pollution actions. Numbered among his current clients are Agrico Chemical Company, Sacred Heart Health System and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Mike enjoys professional relationships with firms throughout the United States. He has testified on prosecutorial ethics before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.

Andrea C. Lyons

Andrea C. Lyons joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in January 2011 as an associate attorney in the commercial litigation department. Andrea earned her Juris Doctorate in 2008 from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
 
Before joining Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon, Andrea practiced at Dumas & McPhail, LLC for 2 years as an associate attorney in Mobile, Alabama, primarily representing creditors in bankruptcy court, foreclosure actions and collection work in Alabama and Florida. While in law school, Andrea interned for the Honorable Judge J. Michael Joiner, Presiding Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit of Alabama. Before law school, Andrea attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was a varsity cheerleader and spent a semester interning in London, England at an employment and health consulting law firm. She was selected as Rising Star in 2013 by the Independent News and recently received the William S. Meador award for 2015.

Charles P. Hoskin

Charles P. Hoskin

Charles P. “Chuck” Hoskin has been practicing law in Pensacola since 1983. After college, Chuck served in the U.S. Navy and then attended Emory University, in Atlanta, where he earned a Masters' Degree in Business Administration. Chuck then went to work for a large manufacturing company, but left that position to attend law school and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida State University College of Law, in 1982.
 
Chuck remained in the Naval Reserve, served as the commanding officer of two separate Naval Reserve Intelligence units, and retired at the rank of Commander (0-5).
 
Chuck was a sole-practitioner and with small firms in the 1980s and 1990s where his practice included civil litigation, family law, criminal defense, and family and civil mediation. With Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon, he focuses on bankruptcy creditor representation, probate administration and commercial and real estate litigation.

Van P. Geeker

Van P. Geeker

Van practices primarily in the areas of taxation, trusts, and estates, and corporate law. He represents clients regularly in IRS tax controversies and also works in the areas of tax-exempt organizations and employee benefits, including qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation planning. Van holds a Master of Tax Law (LL.M.) degree in addition to his J.D. and has an A.V. rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
 
Van served as an Adjunct Professor of Tax Law at Florida State University College of Law from 1996 to 2003 and is a former member of the Executive Council, Tax Section, of the Florida Bar.
 
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Van returned home to join Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in 2012 after practicing in Tallahassee for 30 years. He now resides full-time in the firm’s new office in the Miramar Beach-Sandestin area but is available as well in the Pensacola and Tallahassee offices.

Sally B. Fox

Sally Fox is certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in real estate. This specialization includes representing lenders and businesses in documenting complex commercial construction loans, master builder lines, developments, and post-closing modifications/spreaders. She has documented loans and transactions for large healthcare facilities, multi-location subdivisions and mobile home parks. Ms. Fox represents lenders in SBA 504 and 7A loans.

Gregory P. Fayard

Gregory P. Fayard

As a native of Pensacola, Attorney Gregory Fayard is honored to practice law in his hometown. By working where he was raised, Gregory has been given the opportunity to give back to a community that has given him so much. A graduate of Escambia High, Greg went off to the University of South Alabama to receive his B.S. in Finance. From there, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law and ultimately came home to Pensacola to begin practicing law.
 
Before joining Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon in 2008, Gregory spent six years in the public defender's office of the 1st Judicial Circuit where he defended more than 1800 indigent clients. During this time he was involved with numerous criminal trials and was lead defense counsel in many of these trials. Gregory transitioned to the area of civil litigation where he has practiced in the areas of construction law, commercial litigation, and tobacco litigation. He now focuses his practice primarily in the area of commercial and residential real estate. Gregory also oversees and manages BP Oil Spill claims and litigation for the firm.
 
Consistently recognized for his professional involvement and community service, Gregory has supported many professional associations and community organizations. He is an agent for The Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Alliant National Title Insurance Company, Westcor Land Title Insurance Company, and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Florida Bar, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is on the Board for NAIOP, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Area Real Estate Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pensacola, and is involved with many other boards and organizations in our community.
 
Gregory has invested his life into this community and believes that it is an absolute privilege to live and work in Pensacola. Being one of seven children, his family roots run deep in this area and he has established a vast network of family and friends. Gregory is a devoted husband and father, who believes in raising his family in his hometown.  By coaching his two sons with the Northeast Pensacola Youth Athletics, attending Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, and also as a graduate of Leadership of Pensacola, Gregory makes it a point to constantly stay involved with his community.

Rick has been board certified in real estate law by The Florida Bar since 1991. His practice is concentrated in real estate transactions, development, leasing, and lending.
Rick joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in 2004 and is a Director and the former Practice Group Leader of the Commercial Section. Previously, Rick practiced in Tampa, where for 12 years he focused on representing local, regional and national developers and lenders in a variety of commercial real estate transactions. Immediately prior to joining Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon, Rick was an in-house real estate lawyer with Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. His practice at Winn-Dixie included extensive leasing and shopping center development work. He was also involved with the real estate aspects of the Company’s corporate financings.

Robert A. Emmanuel

Robert A. Emmanuel

Robert Emmanuel graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1976, earning a degree in economics and government. He then attended Duke University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 1979.
 
He joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon upon graduation and for more than 38 years, has practiced in the areas of construction, business, and land use law.
 
He regularly advises businesses on development matters, and contract litigation. He is especially involved in construction law, regularly representing contractors, sub-contractors, owners, architects, and engineers in contracting and litigation matters in state and federal courts, and arbitrations.
 
He facilitates several construction law seminars each year for various industry and professional groups.
 
Robert is board certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law, having served on the inaugural Florida Bar Construction Law Certification committee. He has been named a Super Lawyer in the field of Construction Law for the last 10 years. He is also a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Court Mediator.

Erick M. Drlicka

Erick M. Drlicka

Erick concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury and employment law. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Law, where he was a member of the trial competition team. Prior to earning his law degree, Erick received an undergraduate degree from Spring Hill College, cum laude, and a graduate degree in international affairs from Columbia University.
 
Since joining Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon in 1987, he has become a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, and Board Certified Labor and Employment Lawyer. Gerald L. Brown, Retired

Gerald Brown has practiced in Northwest Florida since 1961 with the Pensacola firm Wells, Brown & Brady, P.A., and in 1997 merged his practice with Emmanuel, Sheppard, & Condon. He concentrates on business and commercial transactions, real property, estate planning, and probate law and has been rated an AV attorney by Martindale Hubbell.
 
Mr. Brown received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1958 and received his law degree in 1961. He was admitted to practice in 1961 by the Louisiana Bar and The Florida Bar. He may practice in all state courts in Florida and Louisiana, the Northern Districts of Florida.
 
He has served on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, the Judicial Nomination Committee for the First Appellate District, and as City Attorney for Gulf Breeze. He has served on many professional business, civic, and charitable boards, and is a co-founder of the Grant-A-Wish Foundation. He's an avid LSU alumnus and on Thursday afternoon, you will find Jerry on the golf course.

Alan B. Bookman

Alan B. Bookman

Alan Bookman began his law career with the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General Corp., where he served in a variety of legal capacities, including Senior Defense Counsel and Chief of Military Justice. He joined Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon upon his departure from the military and now is one of the firm's senior attorneys practicing in the areas of real estate law, probate, guardianship and trust litigation, and commercial litigation. Alan is board certified in Real Estate law by The Florida Bar and is Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Mediator.
