We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to support our attorneys across a wide range of practice areas, including creditors’ rights, foreclosures, bankruptcy, real estate litigation, collections, land use, corporate formation, probate and mediations.
Key Responsibilities
- File and document management
- Drafting discovery requests and responses, pleadings, motions orders and various correspondence
- Large document control and indexing
- Online research of court records/official records
- Research and analyze statutes and case law
- Oversee calendaring and deadlines
- Scheduling and coordinating hearings, depositions and mediations
- Review and summarize construction contracts, bid documents, change orders, and other construction-related materials
- Support attorneys during hearings and trial proceedings as needed
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA approved paralegal program preferred, but not required
- 2+ years of paralegal experience required
- Strong understanding of construction law, lien law, and legal procedures
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software (e.g., ATO, Litify).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Familiarity with Florida Courts E-Filing Portal
- Familiarity with PACER
- Experience in creditors’ rights, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or real estate litigation
- Trial preparation experience
