We are a growing, dynamic law firm seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a diverse and engaging practice that includes business, commercial, and real estate litigation, along with a smaller portion of family law matters. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Candidates must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset where you don’t wait to be told what to do. A successful candidate must also have a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage calendars and critical deadlines
  • File documents in state and federal courts
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Draft correspondence
  • Edit and proofread documents
  • Open new files and close files upon completion
  • Scan, file, and import documents
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
  • Calendar deadlines, including reminders and follow-ups
  • Screen client calls and gather client intake information
  • Perform conflict checks
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience as a litigation legal assistant preferred
  • Experience with state and federal court e-filing
  • Experience assisting with trial preparation
  • Managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with case management and document management systems
  • Experience coordinating depositions, mediations, etc.
  • Experience calendaring and following up on deadlines

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40.0 per week
