Rachel L.Thomas joined Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon in August 2018 as an associate attorney. Rachel is a double Gator, having earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Business Administration along with her Juris Doctorate cum laude from the University of Florida.
Throughout law school, Rachel received the Fall 2016 Book Award for Trial Practice and the Fall 2017 Book Award for International Commercial Arbitration and Moot. Rachel also became a member of the Florida Moot Court Team, where she was selected to compete in The ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Boston, Massachusetts.
As a third-year law student, Rachel was one of four law students selected to compete in the International Chamber of Commerce Vis Pre-Moot in Paris, France, where she and her team placed first in the competition. Rachel also competed on behalf of the University of Florida in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. These experiences led Rachel to pursue a career in litigation at Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon.
Rachel is actively involved in the community, serving as a member of the Governance Board for Habitat for Humanity, an Executive Council member of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, and a member of the Young Lawyer’s Division and Northwest Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Due to her involvement, Rachel was named a 2020 Rising Star by Inweekly Magazine. Rachel was also named by Inweekly’s Best of the Coast as the Runner-Up Best Attorney in 2021 and Best Attorney in 2022.
Rachel is licensed to practice law in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. Rachel works with the personal injury group and is pleased to serve clients in all our Panhandle locations.
